We have three runners tonight at Dundalk.
Political Policy is bidding for his 9th win at Dundalk in the 1m4f rated race at 5.00. He’s a bit of a course specialist but his last win at the venue came back in 2016 so it’s been a while between drinks here for him. He has been in good form over hurdles too and has been a wonderful horse for the yard. He finished 4th over 2m here a fortnight ago. We’ve decided to claim 5lbs off the 77 tonight to make his task a little easier. The favorite, Stronghold looks tough to beat however.
Pulsating runs in the 95= handicap at 7.30 over 7f. She’s rated 64 but it’s sometimes easier to get a run in the higher grade. She could have been balloted out of the 7f 45-65 but with the top rated 87, she’s in the handicap here off a low weight with only 8 runners in the field. She’s been a little disappointing since we got her last November as we thought she was capable of going close in a couple of the lower grade handicaps. She needs to improve to be involved. That said, she has the ability to finish in the money if all goes in her favour.
Nisior Donn runs in the 7f handicap at 8.30. She’s been in fine form since her return from a break, winning in a dead heat over C&D before finishing 2nd upped to 1m last time. She’s been slowly away on both of those runs, and it suited her that they went very quick. She’s gone up 7lbs for those efforts but can be competitive again tonight. Hopefully she’ll be smarter from the stalls as she’s been good out of them at home.
